Southern Maryland Shotokan Karate Club


General:
Southern Maryland Shotokan Karate Club is a non-profit Karate club dedicated
to practicing Shotokan Karate in cooperation with the St. Mary’s County Department
of Recreation and Parks. All students train in the fundamentals of
stances, punching, kicking, striking and blocking. Competetive
Karate is not emphasized. However, as the club is a member of the ISKF , there are
competitive avenues for those students interested in competition.
Minimum age for membership is 7. We
have students of all ages and from all walks of life.
Location:
We are located in St. Mary's County
Maryland. We currently
train at the Lexington Park
Elementary School gymnasium most of the year and the Carver Rec Center
during the Summers. .
Training Times:
Tuesdays and Thursdays :
6-7 PM – beginners of all ages and
ages 7-12
7-8 PM
– advanced - ages 13 and up
Fees:
You must register for each 10 week session with the St. Mary’s County Department
of Recreation and Parks. The fee is currently $60.00. The course description and registration
