Warning Description: Coastal Flood Advisory
Warning Date: 8:34 PM EDT on September 2, 2010
WarningSum:...Coastal Flood Advisory Remains In Effect Until 6 Am Edt
Friday...
Warning Message:A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 6 am EDT Friday.
Southeast winds and lowering pressure in association with
Hurricane Earl will allow water levels to increase to 1 to 2 feet
above normal overnight. These departures are expected to produce
minor tidal flooding during times of high tide tonight.
Then...as Hurricane Earl moves away from the Delmarva on
Friday...winds will switch to the north and will allow water
levels to rapidly decrease. This will bring the possibility of
blow out tides on Friday.
The speed and proximity to land of Hurricane Earl will be key in
how high water levels get.
Here are the times of the next high tides
for a few locations from north to south...
on the Chesapeake Bay...
Havre de Grace...5:26 am...
Bowley Bar...3:04 am...
Fort McHenry Baltimore...2:13 am...
